Honour (Ghana)

Emmanuel Odame is the Founder (Chairman) of Honour (Ghana) since 2019. He has worked with the Board and members of Honour Ghana to set up different chapters of Honour Ghana in Ghana. He has been a participant in previous Honour International Symposiums. Currently he is with the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and lectures at the University of Ghana Medical School, School of Public Health and the LLM Program of the Ghana School of Law in the area of Health Policy, Health Systems, Health Planning and Management. He currently serves as a Co-Principal Investigator on an IDRC Project looking into the vulnerabilities of women in the bushmeat trade post COVID-19. He previously served as Co-Principal Investigator on other projects funded by US CDC, IDRC among others. He was the technical lead for the development of the Universal Health Coverage Roadmap (2020-2030) for Ghana; and was also the focal point for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the health sector. He was a former Steering Committee Member for Universal Health Coverage (UHC2030) based in Geneva. He has several publications in the area of health policy, health economics among others. He was the former Director of Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation of the Ministry of Health, Ghana (2016-2022).

Emmanuel holds a degree in Medicine and a Masters in Public Health (Specialisation in Health Policy, Planning and Management) all from the University of Ghana. He also has a specialist qualification in health policy from the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has additional qualification in negotiation and leadership from the Harvard Law School.
